Troop 1114 Scout Earns the Rank of Eagle Scout

Ryan Daniel Bell is the third Scout from Troop 1114, a part of the Scouting ministry at Magnolia United Methodist Church, to earn the rank of Eagle Scout in 2011.

Ryan joined Boy Scouting in February 2004 after having been a Cub Scout and having earned the Arrow of Light. Outside of Scouting, Ryan has excelled in athletics and music. As a ninth grader, Ryan was moved into varsity athletics from the freshman class due to his continuous hard work in the weight room. In both his sophomore and senior years, he broke world records in power lifting. During his senior year of football at Concordia Lutheran High School, he was elected team captain, received the distinction of Most Valuable Player on Defense, made first team all-district, second team all-state, and second team Lutheran all-American Defensive lineman. Ryan has also served in a lead role in one of the school musicals and has been an active member in the band for seven years. After graduation, Ryan plans to attend Lone Star College and has aspirations to get a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and afterwards attend Law School.

Ryan’s Eagle Project benefited the Magnolia United Methodist Church and greatly improved the appearance of the church by removing an unsightly and unsafe gravel area under the church sign and replacing it with concrete. This will serve the congregation for many years to come.

Ryan plans to stay active in Scouting as an adult and became an Assistant Scoutmaster for Troop 1114 now that he is 18. Ryan is the son of Kevin and Sally Bell of Magnolia.
