Staff and Pastor Relations Committee Announcement

Effective January 2nd through February 29th, Rev Evelyn Cox will be our Interim Pastor while Rev Capri Grimes undergoes six weeks of intensive radiation treatment. Her treatment will start on Tuesday, January 3rd. In order to limit the number of calls she receives, Kathy Halfacre will keep the congregation informed on how Rev Grimes is doing and her treatment status.

Our Texas Conference has established an Intentional Interim Pastor Ministry to help congregations in situations such as ours. Your Staff Parish Relations Committee has entered into an agreement with the Intentional Interim Pastor Ministry to have Rev Cox be our pastor for the next two months.

In accordance with the agreement, Rev Cox will take care of our pastoral needs, and will be paid by the Texas Conference. And we as a congregation are to continue doing what we normally do in the service of the Lord.

It is important to note that during this period of treatment, Rev Grimes will not be our Pastor; she will, however, be our pastor once again on March 1st, after her treatments are completed.

We all need to be in prayer for Rev Grimes for the success of her treatments, and we need to be in prayer for Rev Cox for her pastoral ministry at our church.
